Item 1: VARIANCE (Tabled April 11 and May 9, 2018) from Chapter 275-54 rear yard setback requirement from 30’ to 24’ and setback between buildings from 25’ to 19’ +/- to convert an existing apartment unit to a fully ADA accessible unit. Location: Kida Apartments, Assessor Map 81, Parcel 27. Applicant: Timothy Murphy Architects, 380 High St., Holyoke, MA 01040 Notes: The Applicant requested that their application be withdrawn. The Board accepted the withdrawal. Motion to accept the Applicant’s request to withdraw their application was made by Christina Loy and seconded by Anthony Gallant. Vote was 7-0 to accept the Applicant’s request to withdraw. Side yard setback for a corner lot from 15’ to 1’ to construct a deck and above- ground swimming pool. Location: 233 Chicopee St., Applicant: Jason Dout, same address. Notes: The Applicant explained his petition stating he wanted to install a 21’ above ground swimming pool with an approximately 9’ x 18’ deck. The Applicant’s property is uniquely situated between two side streets with Chicopee Street as the frontage. Essentially he has a corner lot with corners on both sides. Councilor John Vieau called the Planning Department in support of the petition. One Abutter spoke on the petition and had no issues with it. Regular Board Member Anthony Gallant commented that there was plenty of space between the curb and the fence. 1 Motion to approve was made by Anthony Gallant and seconded by Christina Loy. Vote was 7-0 to approve.
