Zoning Board of Appeals Voting Record and Minutes The Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Chicopee public hearing for Wednesday August 8, 2018, 6:30 PM in City Hall Annex, Fourth Floor, City Council Chambers, 274 Front Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Meeting was brought to order by Roland Archambault at 6:30 PM. Item 1: (Tabled from July 11, 2018) Variance from Chapter 275-58D side yard setback from 15’ to 6.4’+/- on south side of proposed addition and 15’ to 8.7’+/- on the north side of the proposed addition. Location: 873 Grattan St. Applicant: Pynchon Press CO. Inc., same address. Notes: Jon Goddard of R. Levesque Associates presented the petition on behalf of the Applicant. Mr. Goddard explained the petition was continued from July 11, 2018 in order for the Conservation Commission to make a determination which may have affected the proposed building setback. The Conservation Commission subsequently approved the proposed setbacks. Since there was a detailed explanation of the project at the July 11, 2018 hearing the Board had no further questions for the Applicant. The Board voted to approve the Variance. Motion to approve was made by Christina Loy and seconded by Katherine Baldiga. Vote was 5-0 to approve. Matthew Bieda X 1 Item 2: Variance from Chapter 275-40 C (16) for dead end parking lot aisle length from 150’ to 190’ and from Chapter 275-63.1 F (3)(b) for driveway aisle width from 26’ to 24’ to facilitate the location of a new building. Location: East Main St., Chicopee River Business Park, Lot 8. Applicant: Andrew J. Crane – A. Crane Construction, 621 Grattan St., Chicopee, MA 01020 Notes: A.J. Crane of A. Crane Construction presented his petition explaining the requested Variance was due to limited site space resulting from the Riverfront Area boundary of the Chicopee River. Planning Staff noted it supported the Variance since it respected the sensitive Riverfront Area. The Planning Department was also in receipt of a letter from the Chicopee Fire Department stating they had no concerns about the dead ended parking lot exceeding 150’. The Board voted to approve the requested Variance. Motion to approve was made by Christina Loy and seconded by Katherine Baldiga. Vote was 5-0 to approve.
