Date: Monday, August 10, 2026 Time: 5:00 p.m. Location: Council Chambers, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, CA Sustainability Commission Regular Meeting ______________________________________________________________________________ In-Person Public Comments: Join us for the Sustainability Commission meeting at the time and location specified on this agenda to make your comments. Each person will be allotted three minutes to address the Commission, unless otherwise adjusted by the presiding officer. CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL Commissioners Alatorre, Cortes Rodriguez, Guevara-Gluyas, Knox, Liang, Sharkey, Vice Chair Salazar, and Chair Korgan 3. CONSENT CALENDAR (Items 3.1 through 3.2) Consent calendar items are considered together and acted upon by one motion. There is no separate discussion of the items unless a commissioner or staff requests an item to be removed for separate consideration. Recommended Action: Approve the recommended actions appearing below consent calendar Items 3.1 through 3.2. 3.1 Approval of Meeting Minutes Recommended Action: Approval of minutes dated: May 11, 2026 3.2 Consider Request for Excused Absence Recommended Action: Consider request for excused absence for Commissioner Alatorre from the May 11, 2026, meeting. 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS The public may address the Commission on any subject matter within the Commission's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law generally prohibits the Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda. The Commission may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff. 5. PRESENTATIONS The following item(s) will be presentations given to the Commission. Action on these item(s) is typically limited to the Commission receiving the presentation and providing direction or feedback to staff, as appropriate. 5.1 Presentation on CalEPA’s Plastic Pollution Mitigation Fund, Presented by Environmental Services Manager Manuel Medrano Recommended Action: Hear the presentation. 5.2 Presentation on the City's Participation in the State of California’s Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Program Grant, Presented by Conservation Specialist Cory Downs Recommended Action: Hear the presentation.
