Full digital recording is available on City Website. Members Present: Beth Mason, Megan Travis, Tyler Cruz, Jim Stanley and Clerk Suzanne Channell. Beth Mason called meeting to order at 4:30 pm. Approval of Minutes: Megan Travis made motion to approve minutes from March 2024 as recorded. Tyler Cruz seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried. President’s Report: Beth Mason stated she received an email regarding the March 2024 Ted Lewis donations report which reported 66 donations equaling approximately $11,000. She also received the numbers from the youth baseball and youth softball leagues for the season, they have met the 50% requirement for players living in the City of Circleville city limits and can now park cars at Ted Lewis during the Pumpkin Show. Numbers will need turned in for fall ball before the season starts. Beth made a motion to approve the youth leagues parking cars during the Pumpkin Show, seconded by Tyler Cruz. Megan Travis abstained herself. All others in favor, motion carried. Service Director’s Report: Jim Stanley said the park’s consultant, Tom Davis, is looking into expenses and amenities for pump tracks/skate parks. He also said the City will be doing sidewalk work at Ted Lewis Park on the south side of the drive to tie into the stone path once the ground dries. And will attempt to create more parallel parking. New Business: Sheri Theis asked about any update on the basketball courts at Emerine Park. Jim Stanley stated they have the bulldozer to grade it out. The work was supposed to begin this past Monday but the weather delayed it. Melissa Manson spoke about the concession stand at Ted Lewis Park and now that it cannot pass the Health Department inspection they have nothing to fall back on to sell food and make money to pay the umps and upkeep of the fields. They cannot get a temporary license because it costs $85.00 per event and they would need one for each day they are open. A temporary license is limited to 10 per person in a year. They have a trailer but it does not have a 3-bay sink, refrigerator or electric to pass the Health Department inspection. Beth Mason stated she will attempt to find someone who could donate a food truck to the league to be used for the season. Beth Kowalski and Paul Hang spoke on behalf of the Tree Commission. They would like to plant trees at Ted Lewis Park on Arbor Day. Tyler Cruz made a motion to approve the planting of trees, seconded by Megan Travis. All in favor, motion carried. The Chamber of Commerce asked to have the fees waived to use the Starkey Pavilion on July 24th for a women’s networking luncheon. Beth Mason made a motion, seconded by Megan Travis. All in favor, motion carried. The Peewee football leagues asked about putting up sponsorship signs on the fence around the football field. The Park Rules & Regulations state sponsorship signs can be put up as long as they are removed within 10 days from the end of the season. Beth Mason made a motion for meeting to adjourn, seconded by Tyler Cruz. Meeting adjourned at 5:00 pm.
