Members of the audience will later have the opportunity to address the Commission regarding ALL OTHER ITEMS ON THE AGENDA at the time the Commission considers those items. At this time the Commission will take public comment for 30 minutes. Public Comment will resume later in the meeting if there are speakers who did not get an opportunity to speak because of the 30-minute time limit. The Brown Act prohibits the Commission from taking action on oral requests relating to items that are not on the agenda. The Commission may engage in a brief discussion, refer the matter to staff, and/or schedule requests for consideration at a subsequent meeting. The Commission requests, but does not require, speakers to identify themselves. When you come up to speak, please state your name unless you wish to remain anonymous. The Community and Human Services Commission or one or more Commissions and/or Committees have previously considered most of the items on the consent calendar. The Commission may act on these items by one motion following public comment. Only Commissioners may pull an item from the consent calendar for discussion. COMMUNITY AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES OF JANUARY 14, 2019 Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission approve and file the Community and Human Services Commission meeting minutes of January 14, 2019. COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission receive and file the various Committee meeting minutes. Attachment(s): Approved IDC Meeting Minutes of 9-27-18 Approved Teen Committee Meeting Minutes of 11-28-18 Approved YSC Meeting Minutes of 12-8-18 3. UPDATE ON TREE REMOVALS AND PLANTINGS FOR DECEMBER Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission receive and file the tree removals and plantings list for December 2018. GIFT TO THE CITY - LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS AND POLYPHAGOUS SHOT HOLE BORER TREATMENT AT OAK PARK CEMETERY Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission approve and accept the proposed donation, direct staff to move forward with requesting approval from the City Manager, and work with the Friends of Oak Park Cemetery to facilitate the donation. Page 3 Community and Human Services Commission Agenda February 6, 2019 5. GIFTS TO THE CITY - JOSLYN AND BLAISDELL NUTRITION FACILITY ENHANCEMENTS Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission approve and accept the proposed donation and direct staff to move forward with requesting approval from the City Manager, and then work with the Claremont Senior Foundation, Inc. to facilitate the donation. CLAREMONT SENIOR PROGRAM 2018 ACCOMPLISHMENTS Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission receive and file the Claremont Senior Program's Accomplishments for 2018. 7. GIFT TO THE CITY - ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission accept the donated electric vehicle charging station equipment from Newhall, valued at $13,400 and forward to the City Manager for final approval.
