Members of the audience will later have the opportunity to address the Commission regarding ALL OTHER ITEMS ON THE AGENDA at the time the Commission considers those items. At this time the Commission will take public comment for 30 minutes. Public Comment will resume later in the meeting if there are speakers who did not get an opportunity to speak because of the 30-minute time limit. The Commission may engage in a brief discussion, refer the matter to staff, and/or schedule requests for consideration at a subsequent meeting. The Commission requests, but does not require, speakers to identify themselves. When you come up to speak, please state your name unless you wish to remain anonymous. Each speaker will be allowed four (4) continuous minutes. CONSENT CALENDAR All matters listed on the consent calendar are considered to be routine. The Community and Human Services Commission or one or more Commissions and/or Committees have previously considered most of the items on the consent calendar. The Commission may act on these items by one motion following public comment. Only Commissioners may pull an item from the consent calendar for discussion. REQUEST FOR REMOVAL OF THREE PINE TREES BEHIND 4247 VIA PADOVA Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission deny the request for removal of the three Canary Island Pine trees behind 4247 Via Padova, direct staff to raise the lower branches on one of the trees, and to consider reviewing the Tree Policies and Guidelines Manual to incorporate best practice for setbacks in the Wilderness Park area. GIFT TO THE CITY - FRIENDS OF OAK PARK CEMETERY Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission approve and accept the proposed donation, direct staff to move forward with requesting approval from the City Manager, and work with the Friends of Oak Park Cemetery to facilitate the donation. 7. REMOVAL OF EUCALYPTUS TREES AT 105 AND 300 COLLEGE AVENUE Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission receive and file this report. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS 8. UPDATE TO THE DESIGNATED STREET TREE LIST FOR DARTMOUTH AVENUE Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission approve the additional designation of Ulmus parvifolia 'True Green' tree and Pistacia chinensis 'Red Push" tree for Dartmouth Avenue north of Eighth Street. 9. WHY WE PLANT TREES (ORAL REPORT) Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Community and Human Services Commission receive and file this oral report.
