Department Report: Chairperson Redd reported the Service Department completed 5,312 work orders and responded to 323 after hour calls. The Billing Division read 107,666 meters with an accuracy rate of 99.9% and the Engineering Division approved 12 utility plans and currently has 35 ongoing projects. NEIGHBORHOOD & COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE Chairperson Stacey Streetman 1. Department Report: Chairperson Streetman mentioned the temporary emergency shelter for the homeless persons and families due to the extreme heat located at First Presbyterian Church gymnasium. United Way staff and volunteers will be available to aid as many as may be required. PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE Chairperson Travis Holleman 1. Department Report: Chairperson Holleman thanked all who worked on the Fourth of July celebration at Liberty Park and then shared upcoming events and also reminded everyone Parks and Recreation is hiring and to go to the City’s website to apply. PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE Chairperson Travis Holleman 1. Department Reports: Chairperson Holleman reported that the Police Department responded to 14,853 calls, CFR had a total of 145 calls (69% were rescue and medical calls). For Building and Codes, the Construction Division had 334 new cases, the Abatement Division had 94 work orders and the number of permits issued was 84. TRANSPORTATION-STREETS-GARAGE COMMITTEE Chairperson Wanda Smith 1. Department Reports: Chairperson Smith reported that CTS transported 6,537 senior citizens in the month of June and reminded everyone they can purchase fares via their smart phones using the Token Transit app. For the Street Department, there were 254 work orders completed and for the Garage, there were 377 work orders. 11 NEW BUSINESS 1.
