FINANCE COMMITTEE APRIL 4, 2019 MINUTES NON-PUBLIC MEETING The City of Clarksville Finance Committee met in a non-public meeting with City Attorney Lance Baker on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 6:15 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 106 Public Square, Clarksville, Tennessee. All members were present along with Mayor Joe Pitts. Discussions were held regarding the Keesee claim and the Robinson v. City case. PUBLIC MEETING CALL TO ORDER The public meeting was called to order 6:46 p.m. by Chairman Jeff Burkhart. ATTENDANCE PRESENT: Jeff Burkhart, Tim Chandler, Valerie Guzman, Jeff Henley, Stacey Streetman CONSIDERATION OF CLAIM Councilwoman Guzman made a motion to reject the claim made by Edward Keesee as recommended by the City Attorney. The motion was seconded by Councilman Henley. A voice vote was taken; the motion passed without objection. CONSIDERATION OF SETTLEMENT DEMAND Councilman Chandler made a motion to reject the settlement demand of $650,000 made by Jeff Robinson, et al. The motion was seconded by Councilman Henley. A voice vote was taken; the motion passed without objection.  Councilman Burkhart made a motion to authorize the City Attorney to make a counter offer as discussed during the non-public meeting. The motion was seconded by Councillady Streetman. A voice vote was taken; Councilman Henley voted “nay.” The motion passed. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
