MINUTES CLEVELAND MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION TUESDAY, JULY 19, 2016 AT 6:00 PM CLEVELAND MUNICIPAL BUILDING 190 CHURCH STREET NE The regular meeting of the Cleveland Municipal Planning Commission was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Dee Burris, Chairman. Members present included Walt Vineyard, Clarke Taylor, Larry Presswood, George Poe, Tricia Pennington, Dee Burris and Bill Hamilton. Members absent included Gary Dennis and Maryl Elliott. Legal Counsel present was John Kimball, Attorney for the City of Cleveland. Staff members present included Jonathan Jobe, Director of Development and Engineering Services, Melinda Carroll, Interim City Manager, Corey Divel, Senior Planner, and Darla Jenkins, Executive Secretary. Others present included Mitch Kinder of Cleveland Surveying, Tom Cate of Cate Brothers Development, Joyannna Love of The Cleveland Daily Banner and Valarie Walker. The minutes of the June 21, 2016 meeting were presented for approval. George Poe made a motion to approve the minutes and Walt Vineyard seconded the motion. A vote of 7-0 passed the motion. There were no Public Hearings. In the Consent Agenda, a. Request by Dan Fendley for final plat approval of Matam Village Subdivision. Property is located on Johnson Boulevard and is zoned R2 Low Density Single and Multi-Family Residential. Plat by Cleveland Surveying Company (pg1). b. Request by Maxie Woods for final plat approval of Woods Lang Street Property. Property is located on Lang St NE and is zoned R3 High Density Residential. Plat by Richmond Surveying Company (pg3). c. Request by Dennis Epperson for final plat approval of Silver Springs Subdivision- Phase III. Property is located on Walnut Creek Trail and is zoned R1 Single-Family Residential. Plat by Cleveland Surveying Company (pg4). d. Request by Cate Brothers Development for preliminary plat approval of The Grove at Hardwick Farms. Property is located on North Lee Highway and Tasso Ln and is zoned Planned Unit Development (PUD12). Plat by Cleveland Surveying Company (pg6). e. Request by Cate Brothers Development for site plan/block plan approval of The Grove at Hardwick Farms. Property is located on North Lee Highway and Tasso Ln and is zoned Planned Unit Development (PUD12) (pg9). George Poe made a motion to approve subject to staff comments and Tricia Pennington seconded the motion. A vote of 7-0 passed the motion. There was no Old Business. In New Business, f. Consideration of a Plan of Service for about .52 acres, more or less, for property located on Tasso Ln (pg10). Tricia Pennington made a motion to approve and Walt Vineyard seconded the motion. Voting 7-0, the commission approved the motion. g. Consideration of a resolution to annex about .52 acres, more or less, for property located on Tasso Ln (pg18). Tricia Pennington made a motion to approve and Bill Hamilton seconded the motion. A vote of 7-0 passed the motion. h. Consideration of an ordinance to zone about .52 acres, more or less, for property located on Tasso Ln (pg20). Tricia Pennington made a motion to approve and Bill Hamilton seconded the motion. A vote of 7-0 passed the motion. i. Consideration of an amendment to the requirements within the Inman Street East Zoning District (pg23). George Poe made the motion to approve and Larry Presswood seconded the motion. Voting 7-0, the motion passed. In the Chairman’s Report, Corey Divel stated that former planning commissioner, Yvonne Cannon, had passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016.  Larry Presswood stated a comprehensive review of the zoning ordinance was needed. There was no Director’s Report. The meeting adjourned at 6:19 P.M.
