Public Hearing: Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council will hold a public
hearing on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the Common Council Chambers of City
Hall for an Ordinance to discontinue a portion of Oneida Street.
Public Comments: None
Council President Briggs made a MOTION to approve the minutes from the November 28 and
December 12, 2017 meetings. Council Member Russell seconded the motion. All members
voted “AYE”. The motion passed.

Koniowka presented Ordinance No. 1 for the year 2018
AN ORDINANCE TO DISCONTINUE A CERTAIN PAPER STREET IN THE CITY OF
COHOES
Council Member Russell made a MOTION to approve Ordinance No. 1 seconded by Council
Member Smith. All members voted “AYE”. Ordinance No. 1 for 2018 passed.

Council Member McCarthy made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 7 seconded by Council
Member Napier. All members voted “AYE”. Resolution No. 7 for 2018 passed.
Council President Briggs, and Council Members Smith, Russell, McCarthy, Napier, and
Koniowka presented Resolution No. 8 for the year 2018
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE ANNUAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017
Council Member Napier made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 8 seconded by Council
Member Russell. All members voted “AYE”. Resolution No. 8 for 2018 passed. Budget
transfers are attached.
Public Comment: None
Council Member Koniowka, “We are going to abide by the opinion of Brian Kremer,
Corporation Counsel. We are not going to attempt to come to a majority vote for President and
Vice President; we will stay with the President and Vice President as is.”
Council Member Napier, “I will not sue the city to pursue the issue. I will accept the opinion of
Corporation Counsel.”
Mayor Morse, “If you are saying to leave as is, why not vote and support the current President?
You need to work in unison.”
At 7:20 PM, the Common Council Meeting adjourned.
