MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COHOES HISTORIC PRESERVATION AND ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD HELD IN CITY HALL ON October 16, 2018 at 6:30 pm MEMBERS PRESENT: Daniele Cherniak, Chairperson Herbert Hyde Barbara Hildreth, Vice Chairperson Robert Langley ABSENT: Thomas Rifenberg ALSO PRESENT: Robyn Reynolds, Dep. Dir. of Economic Development and Planning Chairperson Cherniak called the meeting to order at 6:24 pm. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 12, 2018 MEETING Chairperson Cherniak asked if anyone had any questions about the meeting minutes from the September 12, 2018 meeting. With no questions, Member Hildreth made a motion to approve the minutes, which Member Langley seconded and the motion passed unanimously. CONSIDERATION OF FAÇADE RECONSTRUCTION AT 150 REMSEN STREET Mr. Daniel Sanders appeared on behalf of the buyer of the building and outlined the changes which were made from the last design which was presented including altering the molding pattern on the front of the building as it was remarked that the stone façade was too rustic for the neighborhood. Mr. Sanders proposed using a panel with a picture frame design which would be consistent with the top portion of the storefront. Mr. Sanders noted that there was no sign currently available for review, and that the applicant understands that once a sign is designed, it will need to come back to be reviewed separately. Mr. Sanders noted that he submitted a basic floorplan, but there was not going to be any outside venting that would disturb the exterior of the building. There being no questions, Member Langley noted that he found the design to be very attractive and a huge improvement. Member Hyde made a motion to approve the façade reconstruction design, pursuant to the drawings submitted by Mr. Sanders, which was seconded by Member Hildreth and the motion passed unanimously. ADJOURNMENT With no further business, Member Hildreth made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:29 pm. Chairperson Cherniak seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
