MINUTES OF THE COHOES PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 1 , 2007 AT 6:30 P.M. IN THE COMMON COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Joseph Koval Vice-Chairman Clarence Badgley Mr. Mark DeFruscio Ms. Sharon Gariepy Mr. Edward Carboni Mr. Joseph Moloughney MEMBERS ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Ms. Melissa Ashline-Heil, Planner Ms. Carol Shufelt, Recording Secretary CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 6, SEPTEMBER 17, 2007 MEETING Chairman Koval called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Chairman asked the recording secretary to take attendance call. Chairman Koval stated the minutes from the August 6 and the September 17, 2007 minutes were not ready for approval. CONSIDERATION OF AN ABOVE GROUND POOL AT 16 NORTH SECOND STREET , SUBMITTED BY NANCY BEELER Chairman Koval stated that we have an application for an above ground pool from Nancy Beeler. This is an above ground pool 21’. Member DeFruscio asked how deep the pool is. Ms. Beeler stated that it is 52” deep. Member Gariepy made a motion to approve Resolution # 31 Member Moloughney seconded the motion, roll of call was taken and motion passed unanimously. YES NO Joseph Koval X Sharon Gariepy X Joseph Moloughney X Clarence Badgley X Mark DeFruscio X CONSIDERATION OF AN IN-LAW APARTMENT AT 14 ELAINE COURT, SUBMITTED BY JOHN FARAH Chairman Koval stated we have an application for an in-law apartment at 14 Elaine Court submitted by Mr. John Farah. Chairman Koval stated that the main structure was built in the spring of last year. Chairman Koval stated that because a special permit is required we have to go through this all again. Member Moloughney made a motion to approve Resolution # 32 Member Badgley seconded the motion, roll of call was taken and motion passed unanimously. YES NO Joseph Koval X Sharon Gariepy X Joseph Moloughney X Clarence Badgley X Mark DeFruscio X CONSIDERATION OF THE DEMOLITION OF 77 MOHAWK STREET, SUBMITTED BY SCHAFFER ENGINEERING. Chairman Koval stated that we can not make any decisions on this until the Common Council does something and they cannot do anything until the application is complete. Member Gariepy suggest that they add more green space. Chairman Koval called a motion to adjourn. Member Badgley seconded. All in favor.
