MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COHOES PLANNING BOARD HELD AT 97 MOHAWK STREET COMMON COUNCIL CHAMBERS May 13, 2024 at 6:30PM MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Jack Carroll Mr. Joseph Nadeau Mr. Joe McCormick Mr. Tony D’Angelico ABSENT: Mr. Joseph Moloughney ALSO PRESENT: Sharon Butler, Commissioner of Building & Planning Chair Carroll called the Planning Board meeting of May 13, 2024 to order at 6:30 pm and asked for roll call. Roll Call; Vice Chair Moloughney was absent CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES FROM THE APRIL 8, 2024 MEETING Chair Carroll; first order of business is the approval of the April 8, 2024 meeting minutes. Motion was made by Member D’Angelico to approve the minutes 2nd by Member Nadeau Motion Carried unanimously. YES NO Chairperson Carroll X Vice Chair Moloughney ABSENT Member Nadeau X Member McCormick X Member D’Angelico X CONSIDERATION OF A SITE PLAN REVIEW FOR SIGN REPLACEMENT AT 245 ONTARIO STREET Chair Carroll; 245 Ontario Street come up give us your name and tell us what you are here for. Mr. Chuck Norris from Pro Sign Company; and we are here to for an image upgrade, and to stay a Sunoco station they have to comply so they are just replacing the signage that is there now with the new image. Sharon; it is basically a rebranding right? Mr. Norris; yes it is a rebranding. Chair Carroll; and it is a lot less intrusive now Mr. Norris; yes their new branding is a lot better. Chair Carroll; it is moving away from the NASCAR style. Mr. Norris; they have taken it off the sign and the canopy. It looks a lot better and it is cleaner. Chair Carroll; and when is this going to happen? Mr. Norris; as soon as you approve it and they can get the permit. We are trying to get on these a lot, I’m going around to 40 sites in New York Chair Carroll; and these are all going to be the same size, same location where the current signage is? Mr. Norris; yes Member Nadeau; so visibility is not going to change? Mr. Norris; no visibility doesn’t change, it makes the site look a lot better, you get rid of the checkered flags, it’s clean Chair Carroll; any questions, concerns, considerations? Being none is there a motion on the application? Motion to approve the application was made by Member D’Angelico 2nd by Member Nadeau motion carried unanimously.  YES NO Chairperson Carroll X Vice Chair Moloughney ABSENT Member Nadeau X Member McCormick X Member D’Angelico X CONSIDERATION OF A NEW TENANT APPLICATION FOR 84 ONTARIO STREET Chair Carroll; now do I hear a motion to table 84 Ontario Street due to the fact that no one is here to represent the application. Sharon; are there any questions about that application? It’s a pizza place moving into a pizza place Chair Carroll; well we approved this about a year ago or so Joe? Member Nadeau; maybe a little longer Chair Carroll; it was a young couple wanting to make specialty pizzas for whatever reason another person wants to open a pizza place in the same location. Member D’Angelico; I don’t have a problem with it. Sharon; the hours of operation are going to be 11am to 11pm Monday through Sunday and it is pickup only. Chair Carroll; can we approve it without them here? Sharon; unless you have pertinent questions for them you can. Member McCormick; I don’t have a problem with it Sharon; it is an in-kind business. Chair Carroll; do I hear a motion to accept the application? Motion was made by Member D’Angelico 2nd by Member McCormick motion carried unanimously.
