Mr. Brennan, Chair, is out of town this week. 1. Reviewed the January 26, 2017 minutes. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to accept the minutes. Mr. Turley seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 2. Ms. Cooper reported as follows: a. There is a balance of $11,354 in the AWC Fund. b. Vet expenses are $2,144 year to date. c. Cost control recovery is $2,035 year to date. d. Spike (dog) was redeemed by his owners the same day he was found wondering the streets. e. Cleo and Iris (cats) were adopted by Lois Donaty. f. India (cat) was adopted out of Petco. g. Brownie (cat) is still at Petco. h. Ms. Rodeffer is fostering Scruffy. The committee decided that Scruffy should have the weekend at Petco and “test the waters.” It was suggested that his card should have information about being adopted with adults only and have dust allergies with dry sneezing. Scruffy’s picture will also be posted on Pet Finders by Ms. Stange. i. Ms. Anderson is fostering Athena. 3. The shelter has been cleaned up and painted. Running water has been restored. It now meets the shelter standardization rules.  4. Neighborhood information: a. No new information to report on the feral cat colony that was being looked after by Mr. Thomas, the gentleman who recently died. b. There was a dog hit by a car in North College Park today and unfortunately did die. c. There has been citing’s of a loose dog in College Park Woods – brown and white, looks like a Corgi mix. d. There was a yellow lab on the loose Thursday morning. Ms. Cooper stated that she was not contacted about either loose dog nor was called about the dog that was hit until much later after the incident occurred. She stated that she will put out a public service announcement about contacting Animal Control for citing of loose animals and the uses of a retractable leash. Ms. Bellamy stated she would send out something to College Park Woods residents about calling Animal Control first and then putting information on the listserv for loose animal citings. 5. Ms. Anderson brought the paperwork from Five Below with regards to the 10% of sales to the AWC. Ms. Cooper took the paperwork and will inquire who needs to sign on behalf of the City. 6. The vet who has agreed to do the rabies clinic is still in Texas. She will be returning in early to mid-March. Once Ms. Cooper has contact with her, a date will be suggested to the AWC. 7. Micro chipping will begin in April when the Farmer’s Markets re-open. It was mentioned at a recent City Council meeting that the AWC is very well received at the Farmer’s Markets. There is a caveat that a fireproof tent will be needed for each vendor at the Farmer’s Markets. Ms. Cooper will obtain additional information and will inform AWC at the next meeting. 8. The next meeting is scheduled for March 23 at the VFW at 7:00pm. Ms. Cooper will not be present at the March meeting. Ms. Stange made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Turley seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
