Christiane Williams is no longer a member of the committee. She was sent a letter by the City Clerk’s office and did not respond within the time frame. 2. The agenda was reviewed. There were no additions or corrections. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to accept the agenda. Mr. Turley seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 3. Reviewed the February 2017 minutes as there was not a quorum present at the March 2017 meeting. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to accept the minutes. Ms. Rodeffer seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 4. Reviewed the March 2017 minutes. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to accept the minutes. Ms. Rodeffer seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 5. Ms. Cooper reported as follows: a. A deposit of $25 was made in the AWC fund and the balance is $11,379. b. Vet expenses are $2,736 year to date. Recent invoices paid totaled $592. c. Cost control recovery is $2,360 year to date. There will be an additional $150 forthcoming. d. The following were adopted: i. Baxter – dog ii. Athena – cat iii. Luke – cat iv. Precious – cat 6. Discussed Farmer’s Market dates and activities. The committee decided to be at the Downtown Farmer’s Market on May 21. Mr. Brennan, Ms. Rodeffer, Ms. Stange, and Ms. Cooper will be  present. The committee decided to be at the Hollywood Farmer’s Market on June 10. We will have a vet present for the Rabies shots. Mr. Brennan, Ms. Bellamy, Ms. Cooper and Ms. DeWalt will be present. Ms. Cooper also stated that she has sent several emails to Mr. Ryan asking for the waiving of fees for microchipping and rabies shot and whether it needs to be handled through City Council or through a different chain of command. Mr. Brennan stated he will also contact Mr. Ryan and the City Manager’s office. 7. Maryland Day is this Saturday, April 29, from 10am-4pm. Ms. Cooper will be present the entire time; Ms. Anderson stated she could be there for a couple hours. There will be litter bag giveaways from the AWC. 8. The fundraiser through Five Below is currently under legal review. 9. There is a lost cat from Calvert Hills named Rocky. 10. The Patuxent Avenue feral colony may be dispersing elsewhere. At one point, prior to the death of Mr. Thomas, there were as many as 21 cats. Most recently only five cats have been spotted. 11. Ms. Cooper presented certificates to the members of the committee for their volunteer efforts. She also informed them that the Volunteer reception would be held on June 2 and invitations should be forthcoming. 12. Billy D. has been reduced to part-time status. Anytime Ms. Cooper is not working, volunteers from the committee will have to attend to the animals if there are any in the shelter. 13. Prince George’s County Animal Control impounded 51 rabbits. They are looking for food for them. Ms. Cooper put them in contact with Mom’s Market who made a donation. 14. Ms. Cooper shared the letter from Prince George’s County announcing that the North County Animal Shelter is important and is needed and will be placed in the FY 21-23 budgets.. 15. The next meeting is scheduled for May 25, 2017 at the VFW at 7:00pm. Mr. Turley made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Bellamy seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed.
