The agenda was reviewed. There were no additions or corrections. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to accept the agenda. Mr. Turley seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 2. Reviewed the May 25, 2017 minutes. Mr. Turley made a motion to accept the minutes. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 3. Ms. Cooper reported as follows: a. AWC fund balance is $11,419. There are pending deposits that finance has yet to credit to the account. b. Vet expenses are $2,822 year to date. An $86 invoice was processed. c. Cost control recovery is $2,640 year to date. $40 was for microchips. d. Intake of animals as follows: i. 2 adult cats: Clover and Lela. Clover is in foster care with the intent to adopt. All seems to be going well. Lela is at Petco. ii. 3 litters of kittens. One litter of 6 kittens are in foster care with Mr. Pfeiffer. The other two litters, one of 3 kittens and one of 2 kittens, are in foster care with Ms. Rodeffer. These kittens are going to Spay Now on Monday, June 26 for shots and neutering/spaying. iii. Tootie, a poodle, approximately 7 years old. No tags, no microchip. She was reported to Prince George’s County as well as posted through College Park; no one has come forth to claim her. She is going to be boarded while Ms. Cooper is on vacation. She has an infected molar which will be removed along with mammary gland tumors. There is a potential foster care once Tootie is medically sound. Ms. Cooper to keep the committee apprised. iv. One cat was adopted, Gus, by a resident of Attick Tower. Ms. Cooper has been trying to contact the woman who adopted Gus to check the progress and has been unable to reach her; someone needs to do a wellness check on Gus. Ms.  Anderson said she will contact Peggy Higgins in Youth and Family Services for assistance in gaining access to Attick Towers. She will inform the committee of what she discovers about Gus. 4. Discussed Farmer’s Market dates and activities. The committee decided to be at the Downtown Farmer’s Market on July 16. Ms. Stange is available to be there at 10am. Ms. DeWalt is available at 11:30am. Ms. Anderson said she would be there sometime during the 10am-2pm timeframe. Ms. Cooper reported that AWC received $101 donations from the June Hollywood Farmer’s Market date. 5. The Rabies clinic has been postponed until the fall. The committee will discuss at the September meeting. 6. Ms. Cooper will be out the following days: a. June 23-July 2 – vacation b. July 9 c. August 25-28 During the days she is out for conferences, seminars, vacation, etc. a member of the AWC will need to help if there are any animals in the shelter. 7. Mr. Brennan updated the committee on the feral cat colony at Patuxent Avenue. Apparently, there are still about 17 cats around the Thomas household, but they are spreading out into different areas. Since Mr. Thomas died, no one is feeding them on a regular basis. The neighbor has promised to follow up with the family and see if the cats can be trapped for TNR. Miss Hall, on Fox Street, is actively trapping cats for TNR. Mrs. Williams has 4 kittens that she needs to have TNR and was supposed to contact Ms. Cooper; no phone call, message or email has been received by Ms. Cooper. 8. The committee has a new member, Carol Macknis. She introduced herself at the Hollywood Farmer’s Market in June and said she will start with the July meeting. 9. Davis Hall is set to be open on July 1. We were reminded that the VFW is at our disposal to use for meetings as long as needed. The committee agreed to continue to meet at the VFW, but will review if Ms. Bellamy has issues parking. 10. Ms. Cooper handed out a flyer on dog and cat CPR. 11. The next meeting is scheduled for July 27, 2017 at the VFW at 7:00pm. Mr. Brennan will be out of town, but the committee will still meet. Ms. DeWalt volunteered to do the agenda and send out to everyone. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed.
