A motion was made by Ms. Bellamy and seconded by Ms. Stange to approve the agenda. All in favor; no opposed. 2. Ms. Bellamy made a motion and seconded by Mr. Turley to approve the November 29, 2018 minutes. All in favor; no opposed. 3. AWC Report from Ms. Cooper a. AWC Donation Account - $9,873. This is a $235 increase from the November 29, 2018 meeting. b. Adoptions – all cats i. Mario & Luigi ii. Lily iii. Three kittens c. Fosters/Petco i. Lady (AKA Pearl) – foster with Ms. Rodeffer ii. Willow (dog) foster with Mr. Shea iii. O’Cyrus and Princess – at Petco d. Shelter i. No animals are in the shelter. The shelter’s heat source froze in the cold weather and Ms. Cooper put in a request for repairs. 4. Discussed potential comments for the Municipal Scene. Suggestions made were as follows: a. Heartworm done for February – Ms. Rodeffer b. Flea & Tick/Lyme disease prevention for March – Ms. Bellamy c. Poisonous plants for April – Ms. Rodeffer d. Microchips for May e. Heat weather related diseases for June f. Retractable leashes/Trail etiquette for July g. Spay & Neuter (potential tie in with grant) for August h. Other potential subject suggestions i. Feline diseases ii. Feral colonies iii. Crate or not crate  5. Mayor and Council decided to lift the moratorium on committee members. Any person who would like to be a committee member of AWC needs to contact their council person for a recommendation. No decision has been made on renewing expired terms. 6. Mr. Brennan would like to step down as Chair of AWC and asked for potential volunteers. The committee decided to table the discussion until the February 28, 2019 meeting. 7. Discussed the Maryland Department of Agriculture Spay/Neuter Project Grant Opportunity. This is a Four City (Greenbelt, College Park, Berwyn, Riverdale) initiative with Greenbelt taking the lead much as they did on the previous spay/neuter grant. The RFP was posted on January 11, 2019 and due on Monday, April 1, 2019. Questions asked about the grant: a. Can money be used to trap feral cats? Probably not. b. What will determine eligibility? c. Will spay/neuter for feral cats be permitted? Yes d. Is there another clinic(s) or mobile clinics, besides Spay Now, that would be willing to work with us and take the government vouchers? The committee is concerned, as is Ms. Cooper, that Spay Now is booking appointments that will occur in six to eight weeks. 8. Next meeting will be February 28, 2019 at 7pm in Davis Hall.
