committee. There are no term limits for committee members. AWC had a new member appointed last
evening – Mark Hall. He is present on tonight’s meeting.
c. Ms. Bailey handled two reports on chickens, one stray dog who was returned to its owner, and a Pit Bull
who was taken to the Prince George’s County shelter (Star Wars collar, white haired neutered male).
[FYI- Ms. Bailey does not have access to website yet for posting lost animals.] She has spoken to the
Prince George’s County shelter adoption coordinator and there are two cats available to put at Petco.
However, they will need to have their shots first. Ms. Bailey will contact Spay Now, Spay Spot and
College Park Animal Hospital and see which one can get the cats in for shots.
d. The Prince George’s County shelter will re-open on Monday, with appointments, for adoptions.
e. There has not been any action taken on the MOU for the Greenbelt CART. The committee is concerned
that this has been brought forth for over two years and nothing has been done. Mr. Ryan will continue

background on the MOU and will speak on the importance of the CART.

was made by Ms. Bellamy to change the title to Chapter 1.02 to “Animal Welfare.” Ms. Booth seconded
the motion. Motion carries 8-0-0.

a. October – Potential diseases and available remedies/medicines – Suzie Bellamy
b. November – Making plans for unexpected inability to care for pets – Kathy Rodeffer
c. December – Dangers of holidays – Mark Hall
6. The Annual Report to Mayor and Council is due. Ms. Rodeffer and Ms. Bellamy will email a draft copy to the
committee. It will be discussed at the October meeting.
7. Since the November meeting falls on Thanksgiving and the December meeting falls on Christmas Eve, the
suggestion was made to combine the November/December meetings as one in early December. Ms. Bellamy
made a motion to schedule one meeting to cover November and December for Thursday, December 3. Ms.
Stange seconded. Motion carries 8-0-0.
8. The SPCA has sent a letter to the Mayor discussing the potential repeal of the Pit Bull ban in Prince George’s
County. After discussion, Ms. Termini made a motion that the AWC will not take any action or
recommendation to Mayor and Council. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. Motion carries 6-2-0.
9. The next virtual meeting will be on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 7:30pm.
