The agenda was reviewed, and a motion was made by Ms. Bellamy to accept it. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. Motion carries 7-0-0. 2. March 25, 2021 minutes were reviewed. A motion was made by Ms. Bellamy to accept the minutes. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. Motion carries 7-0-0. It was noted that The April 2021 meeting was cancelled. 3. AWC Report from Ms. Bailey was sent out via email prior to the meeting. (NB – there was no update on budget amount). Other items reviewed: a. The cat in the shelter, Chip, will be eligible to go into Petco once he has completed the Doxycycline. b. There is a yearly report that needs to be completed for Petco which Ms. Bailey is currently working on completing. c. Beltsville Cats has five (5) – seven (7) week old kittens. They will be going to Spay Now at the end of June. One of the female kittens has a heart murmur (5 out of 6). d. Ms. Stullich is fostering a female cat, Jinx, who is already spayed, but currently on ear medication. e. The dog was in the shelter has been taken to Leashes End Rescue. Members are encouraged to review their website.  f. There is no update on the Foster Home Development Program. The form for review is still with the Suellen Ferguson, the City’s attorney. She may be waiting for the new City Manager to start on June 1, 2021, to review with her. 4. Municipal Scene Articles. A reminder that the articles are due to Ms. Bailey, and copy Ms. Rodeffer and Ms. Bellamy, by the 10th of the previous month for which your article is written. For example, April’s article will be due on March 10th. a. June - Keeping cats inside – Ms. Stullich and Mr. Hall b. July – Parasites, fleas, ticks, heart worms – Ms. Butler c. The suggestion was made to have it posted on social media about the dangers of swimming in public waterways and how the green algae will affect your dog. Ms. Bailey will work with the City’s Communication Coordinator about the posting. 5. Discussed October as a potential date for a Rabies/Microchip clinic. The committee will need a vet and any suggestions should be forwarded to Ms. Rodeffer and Ms. Bellamy. 6. A motion was made by Ms. Booth to cancel the July meeting and resume meeting in August. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. Motion carries 10-0-0. 7. The Dog Park is completed; however, the City is waiting on permits from Prince George’s County. 8. Ms. Bailey will be on leave from June 25-July 2. If there are animals in the shelter, arrangements will be made for them. 9. The next virtual meeting will be on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 7:30pm.
