The agenda was reviewed, and a motion was made by Ms. Rodeffer to accept it. Ms. Ealley seconded the motion. Motion carries 9-0-0. 2. The June 24, 2021, minutes were reviewed. A motion was made by Ms. Booth to accept the minutes. Ms. Ealley seconded the motion. Motion carries 9-0-0. 3. AWC Report from Ms. Bailey was sent out via email prior to the meeting. (NB – there was no update on budget amount). Other items reviewed: a. The City Attorney has approved the Foster Program Application. A copy of the form was emailed to the committee prior to the meeting. b. Discussed Microchip/Rabies Clinic. The clinic will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 10:00am – 2:00pm and will be held in the Davis Hall parking lot in the emergency trailer. Ms. DeWalt will share the vet information with Ms. Bailey. Ms. Bailey will organize the logistics of the clinic including using the emergency response trailer, vaccine and microchip orders and working with the City to have an online sign up for appointments. 4. Foster/Adoption/Petco Update: a. There are two kittens that were returned to Petco and available for adoption. The family has a daughter who is allergic to kittens. Eight other kittens were adopted from Petco. b. One parakeet was adopted from the shelter. c. Daisy (dog) was adopted from the shelter. OB (dog) was taken to Bull Terrier Rescue Mission in New York; he was an older dog and had been diagnosed with a heart murmur. His picture and updates can be viewed on their rescue website. d. There are 13 kittens in foster. e. There are three cats in the shelter. 5. Municipal Scene Articles. a. September – Dental hygiene of cats and dogs – Mr. Hall b. October – Community Cats article, which was not published in June. c. November – Toxic holiday foods – Ms. Ealley d. December – Dangers of Holiday decorations – Ms. Bellamy 6. College Park Day is scheduled for October 9. The committee is waiting for further information as to whether this will be scheduled virtually or in person. 7. Ms. Rodeffer and Ms. Bellamy want to step down as co-chairs after the September meeting. Members are asked to consider becoming a chair or co-chairs. This will be discussed at the September meeting. Ms. Ealley and Ms. Stange both offered thanks for the Ms. Rodeffer’s and Ms. Bellamy’s leadership. 8. The next virtual meeting will be on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 7:30pm. Ms. Stange made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Second by Ms. Bellamy. Motion carries 12-0-0. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00pm. Respectfully submitted by Sheryl DeWalt, contract secretary.
