5. Bee Lab update
Bee Lab is open on Thursdays and Saturday. There are about 1300 plants at the

7. City updates
The additional seeds that Ms. Ulloa-Bustos purchased are in envelopes toward
the back of the refrigerator in Davis Hall. The following seeds were purchased:
Rose milkweed, Downy wood mint, Dense Blazing star, Spotted bee balm, Wild
sweet William, Red columbine, Turtlehead, Obedient plant, False blue indigo,
Golden alexander, Rattlesnake master, and Aromatic aster.
The Clerk’s Office said Bee City does not need permission to work with the
County or MNCPPC as long as City Funds are not used. We can co-sponsor
events too, but if funds are needed you would need to submit an “Events Form”
to have it approved, need 30 days lead time for this.

No Mow Survey went out in the Municipal Scene, the Weekly Bulletin, and on
social media. Waiting for the results. Will follow up with the Communications
Manager before the next meeting.
Ordered a 3” Over Cup Oak tree which will be delivered in the fall to be installed
at Davis Field next to the Storm Water Pond.
Communications still had a large box of Pollinator Seeds on hand, so instead of
ordering more seeds, we used the money to order soil for the Bee Lab. Got
preapproval from the City Manager and the Director of Public Works. Maryland
Plant and Supplies will coordinate the delivery with Sam.
8. Cherokee Garden
Reminder that we will be working on Cherokee Garden on Saturday, July 13
at 8:00am. including adding a bee hotel. The dog waste station needs to be
relocated to another area. Dog owners are not picking up their pet waste in the
pollinator garden. Mr. Nagelvoort will speak to Mr. Marsilli about possible
locations to move it.
9. Pollinator Week
The table at the Hollywood Farmers Market for Pollinator Week was well
received. Over 200 plants were given away. The committee is looking to have
another table in August.
There is another Farmers Market at the at the Ellen E. Linson pool on Campus
Drive. Ms. Ulloa-Bustos will reach out and inquire about Bee City having a table
there also.
Councilmember Hew stated that he has Paw Paw trees that can be shared for
any event.
