Lynea Cooper-Pitts 1 X Also present: Janeen S. Miller, City Clerk, Joi Woods, Contract Secretary I. Call to Order John Payne called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. II. Approval of the meeting agenda John Payne declared the meeting agenda for January 11, 2024 approved as written . III. Approval of Minutes Tina Batten moved to approve the meeting minutes from September 28, 2023 as written and the meeting minutes from December 14, 2023 as amended . Yousuf Jaleel seconded the motion. All were in favor. None opposed. The motion passed. IV. Election Summary Report The BOES reviewed discussion points and highlights for the Election Summary Report and the Election Guard Survey Results for the Mayor and City Council. A. A high emphasis of the presentation will focus on the recommendations for the Mayor and City Council to revisit resourcing elections including: 1. Contractual support to assemble training and equipment manuals and implement the election 2. Some board members with professional experience working with elections 3. Increased stipend for BOES members B. Areas for future consideration 1. Adjusting early voting days 2. Adjusting the age for eligible voters to include 16-year-old residents VI.
