I. Call to Order
Mr. Brennan called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
The group engaged in discussion with Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) about the rules and
protocol for background checks for drivers and volunteers entering homes to provide services.
The discussion tabled until the next meeting.
II. Approval of the February 7, 2018 Minutes
Mrs. Bernache motioned to approve the minutes as amended. Mrs. Hakes seconded the motion.
All were in favor, none opposed. The motion passed.
III. Review of the Latest Version of the Presentation to City Council, March 6 at 7:30 p.m.
A. The committee reviewed and discussed changes and updates to the City Council
presentation
B. Mr. Brennan will ask Scott Somers, City Manager about the amount of capacity of the City’s
Communications Officer to support NHN communication needs. Mrs. Higgins will verify
Councilmembers salary with the City Clerk.

OTHER FACTORS: ADDITIONAL NEEDS & COSTS
• NHN Website - Mr. Brennan volunteered to design and pay for the NHN website, NHN will
provide content.
A. Identification of Presenters and Talking Points for all Members
The committee discussed:
• Talking points for members to talk with their Councilmembers in advance of the
March presentation
• Development of a clear narrative script, 2-3 sentences per slide
• While the committee presenters were not identified, Rosemary Perticari agreed to work on
the narrative to accompany the presentation.
B. Discussion with Neighbors Helping Neighbors leadership about next steps and possible
Committee member participation. Mr. Payne will contact the Village Rides Training
Coordinator to identify potential training dates. Dates will not be chosen until after the Senior
Committee’s presentation to the City Council.
C. Adjournment
Mrs. McClellan motioned to adjourn the meeting, Mr. Guevara-Cordova seconded the motion.
All were in favor; none opposed. The motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
