There were 6 or 7 participants; about same as first group Bonnie requested list of who has attended Stakeholder interviews Edythe- Agnes has this list Robert asks if committee can communicate with stakeholders about initiative; Terry says yes that is helpful Kick-off Event Planning: Committee discussed having a spring or fall event when students are present. Proposed the following possible dates, 4/23, 4/24, 4/30, 5/1. May is Older Americans Month so this is a good time to have it. Preferred location is City Hall (Community Room, Lobby, Plaza). Need to clarify event goals and activities and engage the new City Event Planner. Terry will contact Ryna about his involvement. Communications: Robert mentioned the importance of continuing to reach out to engage and inform people and Darlene said efforts should be made to reach people where they are. Examples are at YFSS, Attick Towers and Spellman House, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and Civic Associations. It was suggested that the Senior Program Newsletter mailing list be expanded. Kiaisha will be asked to write something for the Weekly Bulletin inviting interested persons to be added to the list. Subject matter for future communications was discussed and included using highlights from the consultant's work. Missing Middle Housing: Robert shared information on this topic from a recent presentation and article in the Washington Post about Montgomery County. It is a way to provide affordable housing through a variety of housing types and densities that zoning doesn't typically allow. Community support and advocacy is needed. New Business: Upcoming meetings of note include ARPA Community Forum on 11/30, Meet the City Manager on 12/1 (District 4?), and Route 1 Community Cares Arts Fair. Next Meeting: Hold 12/27, if needed, or cancel.
