ACTION ITEM
17-G-112 Approval of fundraising request by the City’s Animal Welfare Committee
Mr. Ryan referred to the supplemental information in the red folder. Council policy requires
Council approval of fundraising activities by City-appointed Boards and Committees. The AWC
request is for several fundraising activities to cover whatever extraordinary veterinary services
might be required to help care for animals that come into our care. Mr. Ryan said Staff supports
the request. AWC Chair Nick Brennan said their fundraising is ongoing and they don’t
anticipate coming back to Council each time unless there is a change in the type of effort they
have planned.
A motion was made by Councilmember Stullich and seconded by Councilmember Brennan
to approve the Animal Welfare Committee’s request for fundraising as proposed.
Councilmember Stullich is pleased with the work the Animal Welfare Committee is doing.
There were no comments from the audience.
The motion passed 7-0-1 (Nagle abstained).
ADJOURN: A motion was made by Councilmember Stullich and seconded by Councilmember
Brennan to adjourn the Special Session, and with a vote of 8 – 0 – 0 Mayor Wojahn adjourned
