SPECIAL SESSION MINUTES College Park City Council Tuesday, September 17, 2019 Davis Hall, 9217 51st Avenue 10:11 P.M. PRESENT: Mayor Wojahn; Councilmembers Kabir, Kennedy, Brennan, Dennis, Day, Rigg, Kujawa and Mitchell. ABSENT: None. ALSO PRESENT: Scott Somers, City Manager; Bill Gardiner, Assistant City Manager; Janeen Miller, City Clerk; Suellen Ferguson, City Attorney; Bob Ryan, Director of Public Services; Julia Nikhinson, Deputy Student Liaison During the regularly scheduled Worksession on September 17, 2019, a motion was made by Councilmember Brennan and seconded by Councilmember Day to enter into a Special Session to make an appointment to the College Park Housing Authority that is time sensitive. The Special Session was listed on the Worksession agenda. The motion passed 8-0 and the Mayor and Council entered into Special Session at 10:11 p.m. ACTION ITEM 19-G-125 A motion was made by Councilmember Rigg and seconded by Councilmember Mitchell to approve the Mayor’s appointment of Theresa Keeler to the College Park Housing Authority. The motion passed 8-0. ADJOURN At 10:11 p.m., a motion was made by Councilmember Brennan and seconded by Councilmember Kennedy to adjourn from Special Session. City participation in equity and diversity initiatives and establishment of a point-of- contact for diversity matters in the City - Jill Clements and Bill Gardiner Closed Session: Pursuant to the Maryland Annotated Code, General Provisions Article, Section 3-305, the Mayor and Council are providing notice that they will meet in a Closed Session after tonight’s meeting for the following purpose: To consult with Counsel to obtain legal advice; To consult with staff, consultants or other individuals about pending or potential litigation. The City Attorney and staff will advise the Mayor and Council about a possible settlement in a matter of pending litigation. This agenda is subject to change. Item times are estimates only.
