Call to Order Ms. Gross called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. II. Announcements a. Shared video for Shadows of Lakeland event on July 27, 2024. Tickets are available at the box office of the Clarice. III. Review and Approval of June Meeting Minutes 1 The Commission reviewed the meeting minutes of the June 18, 2024, meeting and edits were made. Mr. Thurston motioned to approve the minutes with noted corrections. Second by Mr. Fellows. All members in favor; no opposed. Motion carries 8-0-0. IV. Commission Updates a. RJC Scholarship Program – the application is live on LinkTree. b. Lakeland Day on August 24, 2024, 12:00-7:00p.m. – Plan to have a table closer to the moon bounce. Mr. Fellows motioned to have food provided by the Commission to volunteers at Lakeland Day, provided the Commission’s budget is sufficient. Second by Ms. Murphy. All members in favor, no opposed. Motion carries, 8-0-0. c. RFP Proposal – The RFP has been granted to Columbia University. An update on when the team will start will be provided in the next couple weeks. V. RJC Committee Reports a. Restorative and Transformative – The Committee met to work on the upcoming events and scholarships. VI. Next Meeting The Commission decided to not hold an August meeting. Mr. Fellows motioned to not hold an August Commission meeting and to convene in in September. Second by Ms. Boardley. All members in favor; no opposed. Motion carries, 8-0-0. VII. Adjournment Mr. Fellows motioned to adjourn the meeting. Second by Ms. Murphy. All members in favor; no opposed. Motion carries, 8-0-0. The meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m. 2
