Approval of June Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the June 19, 2019 meeting were reviewed and corrections were made. Motion: Adopt June meeting minutes as amended. Moved: Ms. Alfred Second: Mr. Meyer Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 2. Public Works Department Report: Ms. Alexander shared the following highlights: • The landscape crew has been working on weeding Route 1 medians in the downtown business district near IKEA in preparation for visitors to the downtown 4th of July fireworks. • There is also a crew pruning street trees in Crystal Springs, another crew is working on vegetation management along Albion Road in Calvert Hills. • There was a request to load the gain/loss tree canopy map on the City website. The tree canopy assessment report is also located on the website. 3. CBE Report: No CBE report was provided. 4. Old Business a. Elect a Chairperson 1  Ms. Wagner nominated Ms. Alfred as the TLB Chair. Second by Mr. Reitzel. All members in favor; no opposed. b. Review Tree Ordinances – Private property tree removals Mr. Reitzel will draft the recommendations for the tree ordinance. 5. New Business a. Annual Report Ms. Alfred will draft the annual report. b. Tree planting programs in College Park The TLB reviewed two brochures, Free Trees and Trees Brochure, drafted by Ms. Alfred that provide information on the City’s tree planting programs. Members provided comments on the brochures. Ms. Alfred will update based on the comments and will email the Board the updated versions for final review. The Board also discussed having the brochures available electronically as well as printed to pass out at City events such as the Farmer’s Market and at College Park Day. 6. Next Meeting Date The next meeting will be held on August 21, 2019 at Davis Hall. 7. Adjournment Mr. Meyer made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Second by Mr. Reitzel. The meeting adjourned at 9:09 pm. 2
