Approval of Meeting Agenda: The agenda for the June 17, 2020 meeting was reviewed. Motion: The agenda order was re-arranged to start with the College Park website for trees. Moved: Dr. Lea-Cox Second: Mr. Reitzel Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 2. Approval of February Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the February 19, 2020 meeting were reviewed. Motion: Accept February meeting minutes as amended. Moved: Ms. Alfred Second: Ms. O’Brien Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 3. Approval of May Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the May 20, 2020 meeting were reviewed. Motion: Accept May meeting minutes as amended. Moved: Ms. Alfred Second: Ms. O’Brien Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 4. Public Works Department Report: Ms. Alexander shared the following highlights:  Contract tree work has been awarded to EXCEL and they will begin working on 25 tree removals and 11 trees to be pruned.  Met with the Pepco planners that are working in the City. The neighborhoods where work will be conducted are the Estates, Calvert Hills, Old Town, and the North College park area. 1   Currently interviewing for temporary summer help.  The Hollywood dog park project has been advertised. The closing date for bid submission is June 26, 2020.  Currently working with the contractor to finalize a concept plan for the Odessa playground project.  The landscape crew has been working on weeding and pruning. 5. CBE Report No updates. 6. Old Business a. Tree Permitting Ordinance The Board reviewed the revised tree permitting ordinance and made final edits to the document. Ms. Alfred motioned to move forward with the revised changes. Second by Mr. Reitzel. All members in favor; no opposed. The Board will try to have the revised ordinance added to the City Council’s July 7, 2020 worksession. b. City of College Park website page for trees Ms. Quinones shared with the Board that she created a website: www.collegeparkmd.gov/trees . The website includes information on the TCEP, brochures that were created by TLB, and has videos from past Arbor Day events. 7. New Business a. Ivy on Trees The Board discussed creating a document for home owners that addresses the various types of ivy and will provide information on control. 8. Next Meeting Date The next meeting will be held on July 15, 2020. 9. Adjournment Ms. Alfred made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Second by Dr. Lea-Cox. The meeting adjourned at 8:57 p.m. 2
