COLUMBIA CITY PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING AND REGULAR SESSION March 12, 2013 Page 2 of 2 Lisa explained in 2012 along with a series of partnerships the City was able to successfully fund updates for the wastewater and water master plans. The previous plans were from 1997. The Planning Commission is to consider a recommendation to the City Council on whether or not you believe they should adopt the documents. The staff report is being used as the narrative for the actual application. A public hearing will be heard before the City Council on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Lisa stated the staff report general says the plans presented comply with Columbia City’s Comprehensive Plan and in so doing also comply with the State of Oregon goals for land use. Staff and Commissioners discussed the presented plans at length. Leahnette stated some of the key areas needing to be addressed that these plans have discovered are steel tank replacement and/or abandonment; automated meter reading system, abandonment of old duplicated water line and measures to help with leak detection and address pressure issues.
