The City of Columbia City In Columbia County on the Columbia River Hazard Mitigation Planning Group Meeting Minutes – October 7, 2013 - 6:00 p.m. City Hall, 1840 Second Street Columbia City, Oregon 97018 Members Present: Leahnette Rivers, City Administrator/Recorder Casey Wheeler, City Council Member Micah Rogers, Public Works Superintendant Michael McGlothlin, Chief of Police Lorne Clark, Plant Manager, Dyno Nobel Ron Youngberg, CRF&R Gary Hudson, Citizen Member Kellie Niles, Group Leader Meeting called to order at 6:00 pm Topics: Continued discussion took place in order to review plans and update on coordination progress of Emergency Management Fair. Casey Wheeler updated community outreach, education, and promotion efforts by discussing Facebook set up, invites sent with positive responses received. Leahnette Rivers also updated planning group on City Staff efforts in regards to publicizing the event by sharing flyer information which was sent to citizens. Chief McGlothlin confirmed the participation Red Cross personnel, local HAM operators with ARES/RACES personnel, as well as CIRT member involvement. Chief McGlothlin briefed that contact was made with Columbia 911 personnel for invitation to participate and also in regards to status of local high school volunteers. Anne Parrott has also volunteered to conduct shelter-in-place training due to inability of Red Cross to conduct training and the inability of Columbia 1 County Emergency Management Office to attend the event. Lorne Clark updated efforts in regards to fair topics and points of interest by updating on progress with food service coordination with Blackbird Catering and briefed on finalized plans for food service. Lorne Clark also briefed on the status of shelter-in-place kits to be provided as door prizes in conjunction with the City utility raffle. The planning group tabled further discussion regarding the annual review and update of the Hazard Mitigation Plan, Goals, Action Items, and Mitigation Action Plan until November 2013 meeting as we are awaiting review feedback from Columbia County Emergency Management Office.
