Meeting Minutes – November 4, 2013 - 6:00 p.m.

Meeting called to order at 6:01 pm
Topics:
After action review conducted regarding inaugural Columbia City “Prepare Fair”.
Citizen participation and feedback noted as very positive. Annual event planned
with 2014 primary focus identified as earthquake preparedness with continued
emphasis on general preparedness and CAN registration. Discussion took place
regarding OMSI or other entity (?) having mobile earthquake demonstration
room/equipment and how to procure. Plan to have future “Prepare Fair” event(s)
to coincide with annual City Celebration in month of September. Discussion
regarding CAN system included a feasibility test as well as development of test
messages and number of households/individuals registered.
The planning group completed review of Appendix C to the Columbia County
Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, in accordance with Council Bill No. 09-
1
525. Specific items updated as to accomplishments/tasks completed/on-going
status. Planning group members are to forward any other suggestions or
concerns to City Administrator Leahnette Rivers via e-mail.
Other business: Discussion took place regarding draft document prepared by Ron
Youngberg, CRF&R, relating to response plan for a Dyno Nobel reported chemical
release.
The planning group scheduled next team meeting to Monday December 2, 2013.
