The City of Columbia City In Columbia County on the Columbia River STREET COMMITTEE MINUTES MARCH 12, 2015 MEETING City Hall, 1840 Second Street, Columbia City 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Sally Ann Marson, Chair Gordon Thistle, Committee Member Dave Jensen, Committee Member Jeff Peterson, Committee Member Leahnette Rivers, City Administrator/Recorder Micah Rogers, Public Works Superintendent Chairman Marson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan Update Following Committee discussion, it was the consensus of the Committee that the Five- Year Plan be updated to include the same projects as the current plan, moved out one year and adjusted for inflation. SCA Project for 2016 It was the consensus of the Committee to resubmit the “L” Street project for the 2016 SCA Grant program, without the curb and sidewalk improvements due to the amount of additional expense that those improvements bring, especially in light of the absence of a storm system in the area. Members reviewed the award list for 2015 and the scoring. Columbia City’s project ranked 12th out of 23 projects, and the top 8 received funding. It was the consensus of the Committee that we borrow traffic count equipment for placement on the east end of the L Street bridge prior to submitting the 2016 application. Street Lighting Improvements Members expressed an interest in moving to an LED lighting system. The wooden lamp posts will be evaluated and prioritized for replacement. Other Business: Micah reported that he is waiting for the contractor to schedule the striping and crack seal work.
