The City of Columbia City In Columbia County on the Columbia River Hazard Mitigation Planning Group Meeting Minutes – March 23, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. City Hall, 1840 Second Street Columbia City, Oregon 97018 Members Present: Kelly Niles, ODF/Group Leader Josh Fromm, City Council Member Leahnette Rivers, City Administrator Micah Rogers, Public Works Superintendent Michael McGlothlin, Chief of Police Vincent Aarts, Columbia County Emergency Management Gary Hudson, Citizen Member Dan McGraw, Citizen Lorne Clark, Dyno Nobel Anne Parrott, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Public Health Foundation of Columbia County Ron Youngberg, CRF&R Meeting called to order at 6:00 pm Topics: Minutes approved from the January 26, 2015 Hazard Mitigation Planning Group Meeting; with amendment noted for name correction for Lorne Clark. Review of status completed by Chief McGlothlin regarding community emergency notification processes and templates/information gathered. Sample information still being gathered from source providers. Anne Parrott has submitted sample information to date which is assisting in this project. Chief McGlothlin will forward suggested templates to the planning group for review, discussion, and approval. Review of status completed by Chief McGlothlin regarding the Columbia City 1 Continuity of Operations Plan. Sample information for this project is also still being gathered. Anne Parrott has also submitted source information for this project which reflects information and language from the Oregon Office of Emergency Management. Other business: Kelly Niles led discussion on “Ready… Set… Go…” initiative. He will brief as an agenda item at next scheduled meeting. Prepare Fair 2015 discussion took place regarding interest level for continuing the event as well as suggested improvements. Support within the group remains high with the site location of the event discussed as a primary point for improvement. Items for a gift draw were also discussed as a method of increasing interest in citizens attending the fair. September 19, 2015 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm; running in conjunction with the annual City Celebration, was agreed upon as the event date and time. Planning group members are to bring additional ideas and suggestions for the focus of the event to the next meeting. Vincent Aarts provided update for upcoming “Cascadia Rising” functional exercise. Meeting scheduled for this event to take place on March 30, 2015. More information is to follow as it is received. Leahnette Rivers discussed membership and appointments to the planning group. Citizen Dan McGraw expressed interest in formally joining the planning group. Meeting adjourned at 6:31 pm. 2
