COLUMBIA CITY PLANNING COMMISSION REGULAR SESSION & WORKSHOP CITY HALL – 1840 SECOND STREET JANUARY 12, 2016 - 7:00 P.M. PLANNING COMMISSIONERS: Kelly Niles, Chair* *Denotes Commissioner absent Barbara Gordon, Vice-Chair Coralee Aho Dennis Capik Laurie Oliver (left at 7:45 p.m.) Shelly Sandford Mark Worral STAFF: Stacey Goldstein, City Planner Helen Johnson, Planning Administrative Assistant OTHERS: None MEETING TO ORDER: Barbara called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Barbara led the pledge of allegiance. MEET AND GREET NEW CITY PLANNER: Stacey Goldstein, the City’s new Planner, instruduced herself and provided her background. Each of the Commissioners introduced themselves to Stacey and provided a bit of their own backgrounds. WORK SESSION: The Commissioners and staff discussed what opportunities would be coming in the future and what topics should be addressed. Topics mentioned included: vision clearance changes, marijuana regulations, storage structures and vacation rentals. Staff and Commissioner also discussed the recent R-3 Zone change application. It was also discussed to potentially in the next year or so, conduct a review of the City’s Development Code. The group also discussed changing the start time for the Planning Commission meeting to 6:30 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. Helen will discuss with the City Administrator about what is needed to make this change. COLUMBIA CITY PLANNING COMMISSION REGULAR SESSION & WORKSHOP Januray 12, 2016 Page 2 Staff and Commissioners discussed upcoming meetings.
