Columbus Area Aquatic Center Advisory Board Meeting Minutes August 30, 2017 6:00pm Location: Entryway of CAAC 1. Call to order by Amy Jo Meyers at 6:37pm 2. Quorum Determined-members present: Ross Rehfeldt, Martha Rule, Katie O’Keefe, Julie Berget, and Trina Reid. Columbus Rec Supervisor Amy Jo Meyers and CAAC Manager Kane Browskowski also present. 3. Notice of meeting was posted. 4. Agenda approved, motion by Ross Rehfeldt, seconded by Martha Rule. 5. Minutes for June meeting not available for approval. 6. Citizen comments and communications. Julie Berget mentioned overhearing patrons and witnessing herself the need for a posting reminder of age appropriate limit for opposite sex in changing areas. American Red Cross secret shopper report went well, they were very throrough 7. Old Business a. Rental of facility to outside groups. St. Jerome and Cardinals Unlimited had events charging $3/person. $300 for the night rental. b. A mini triathlon is in the works for start of summer 2018. 8. State Inspection report update. The drain is closed, can be opened up and cleaned out. Signs are needed on deck stating there is no diaper changing allowed or pool could be fined $1000 from the state. Depth marker needed for slides. Base of large slide contains rust that needs to be scraped off and painted. Cut anchor and reform stairs, new railing next year. 9. New Business Pool operations: active.net charges a convenience fee for card and cash, look into where that goes. Pump update: operates by slide, bearing shot, need to be replaced. Financial update: pool received $162,000 in revenue. 10. PA/Speaker system-existing wired in for system. Look into need to install one. 11. 2017 Season close update a. Mid America did a site visit. When pool closes for season they will inspect and look for any areas to fix. 12. Next meeting Sept. 27 @ 6:30 Meeting adjourned @7:17pm motion by Martha R., second Ross R.
