Columbus Area Aquatic Center Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Wed. Nov. 15, 2017 6:30pm 1. Call to order by Amy Jo Meyers at 6:30pm. 2. Quorum determined-yes. Members present: Amy Jo Meyers, Ali Simyab, Mayor Michael Thom, Marcie Bindl, Julie Berget, Trina Reid, and Martha Rule 3. Notice of posted meeting-posted 4. Approve agenda: motion by Simyab, second by Thom 5. Approve minutes: motion by Rule, second by Berget 6. Citizen comments or communication: none present, none received. 7. Old Business A. Rental of facility to outside groups-Amy Jo mentioned a spread sheet with info gathered on what nearby municipals charge. For comparison on pool size and community size as well. B. Triathlon in the works for early pool season 8. New Business 1. Signs for no diaper changing, pool depths and hands inside slide ordered for $153. Quad test for concessions ordered. Plumbing coming to check leaks in Feb. in back room. 2. Pool Operations and Financial Update: John Paul will repaint family room ceilings and hallway. Will give quote for prime and paint on doors as well. Financial updates: New card reader-ID card-photo card. Spread sheet for passes, fee for lost passes. a. Pump room: while draining surge tank-water flooded into the pump room and rose 5-6 feet. Pumps and motors were shot. Insurance should cover cost and install. New variable pump drive-$8700. b. Pool resurfacing: color change noticeable when drained, not as smooth, and caulk lines are pulling away. The company will come and resurface this spring. 3. CAAC 2018 brochure a. Look into other options to replace active.net 9. Next meeting date: Jan. 10 @6:30 in the community center. 10. Adjourn: 7:16pm motioned by Bindl, second by Reid B. Mayor Thom brought up an idea to put a cabana in for private rental, could use as a prize incentive as well. Businesses, birthday, etc. Idea received well by board.
