Columbus Area Aquatic Center Advisory Board Meeting minutes May 9, 2018 6:00 pm 1. Call to Order 2. Present: Amy Jo Meyers, Mayor Michael Thom, Kane Brokowski, Ross Rehfeldt, Martha Rule, Marcie Bindl, Julie Berget, and Trina Reid 3. Meeting was posted 4. Marcie and Martha approved agenda 5. Martha and Julie approved minutes for Feb. 28, 2018 meeting. 6. No citizen comments or communications 7. Old Business a. Triathlon-June 23. Hospital and Fire Dept will help with volunteers. Pick up race packets ahead of time-possibly during the pool open house on May 24. Registration will be open the day of. Check in at 7:00 Start at 8am. Will ask Pick n Save to donate water and Hometown Grocery to donate hot dog buns. The DJ that works with the Rec Dept is booked. Info will go out on Peach Jar and a FB event will be created. b. Staff updates. 35 people hired for the pool. Training night will be May 10 (tonight). c. Pergola is on hold for this year-more information will be gathered. d. Maintenance updates: New paint for 2 ceilings, trim out front, 5 doors. Cracks in locker rooms filled and both rooms painted. During de-winterizing 5 leaks were discovered from broken pipes: locker room, concessions, lifeguard room and changing room. All were patched up and concealed. 5 collars broke in maintenance room. Data card reader purchased-will allow pictures on ID cards. 8. New Business 1. CAAC 2018 brochure Discussion of concern presented by Martha Rule that a family member was being used for the job. Previous designer had been notified and had not returned messages to do the job. Motion was made by Julie Berget to use new brochure, Bindl, Thom, Reid and Rehfeldt all favored. Second motion was made to pay out for expense of printing brochure only (500 copies) by Rehfeldt, Berget, Thom, Reid, and Bindl all favored. Next Meeting Wed. June 13-6:30pm. 10.
