Columbus Area Aquatic Center Advisory Board Meeting Minutes July 11, 2018 6:30 pm 1. Call to Order 6:35 pm 2. Present: Amy Jo Meyers, Trina Reid, Marcie Bindl, Martha Rule, Ali Simyab and New Member Katy Stapelmann 3. Meeting was posted, along with amended agenda 4. Bindl & Stapelmann approved agenda 5. Rule & Reid approved 6/13 minutes 6. No citizen comments or communications 7. Old Business a. Mini Triathlon (New Date: August 11th) – Registration is low (13). Looking for 20/25 to proceed with event. Spread the Word! 8. New Business a. Carrico Items of Suggestion - Open up for bids. Waiting on quotes. To be done after season ends. Short term fixes being done to get through swim season. b. Night Swim – Idea to add night swim event. 8-10 pm, lights on, swim toys allowed. Friday or Saturday night, possible DJ. i. Looking at August 10th after Beach Night Event. Meyers to contact DJ. $3.00 for non-members. Free to members. c. Upcoming Planned Events i. July 15th – Ping Pong Float 6-8:30 ii. August 10th - Beach Party 6-8:30 – Night Swim to Follow iii. Back to School Event – 6-8:30 d. Discussion to consider CAAC as Cooling Shelter – Discussed staffing, safety and other issues.
