COLUMBUS COMMON COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES TUESDAY, JUNE 20, 2023 1. Roll Call: Council President Roelke called the meeting to order at 7:12 pm. Present: Council President Roelke, Mayor Hammer, Alders: Finkler, Reid, Steiner; Staff: Goebel, Atty Johnson, City Eng Lietha, Anding, Meyers, Weiner, Hazeltine; interested citizens. Motiff was excused. Gray absent. 2. Notice of Open Meeting: Noted as posted. 3. Approve Agenda: Motion by Finkler, second by Steiner to approve agenda. Carried voice vote. 4. Citizen Comments: None. 5. Department Reports: Placed on file: DPW, Fire, Lifestar, Library, Police, Treasurer, WWTP 6. Consider request of Lyco Manufacturing for waiver of requirement for commercial driveways to allow third driveway: Brad Weber, Lyco Mfg, requested a waiver to add a third driveway for the safety of the drivers, customers, and staff parking. Forward to 7/11 Regular meeting. 7. Review request of Recreation Dept to host a Foreign Exchange Student from Rotary as a summer Camp Youth Volunteer: Recreation Director Meyers requested permission to host an exchange student as a camp youth volunteer. Consensus to allow. 8. Consider chicken application – 443 W Prairie St: Postponed to 7/11 COW. 9. Updated Special Assessment for Folsom Street: City Engineer Lietha briefly outlined the final report with most of the assessments going down due to the project coming in under budget. Forward to 7/11 Regular meeting. 10. Review 2024 Budget Timeline & Process: Forward to 7/11 Regular meeting. 11. Adjourn: Motion by Finkler, second by Reid to adjourn at 7:27 pm. Carried voice vote.
