1. Call meeting to order: Carolyn Fredericks
2. Properly posted meeting: Check
3. Citizen comments on agenda items: Pyfferoen remarked on the Pavilion painting:
“Beautiful”!
4. Approve Agenda: Motion: Lukasavitz; Second: Altschwager; Moton carried.
5. Approve minutes from the July 9, 2020 meeting: Motion: Salzwedel; Second:
Hermanson. Motion carried.
6. Treasurer Report-Attached: : Motion to approve: Salzwedel; Second: Kurth.
Motion carried.
7. Old Business:
A. Pavilion projects/planning meeting – Thursday, September 24, 2020, 3:30
p.m. at Pavilion: Noted
B. Pavilion Window Restoration Project – Phase 3 – COW 9-15-2020 –
summary: Noted change to 10/6/2020 Council meeting.
C. Pavilion painting:
1) Deteriorated boards: Hermanson solicited 3 bids: Mark Crary, Philip’s
Home Remodeling & Carpentry, and Deckman Carpentry. Hermanson will
follow up.
2) Vents: Roberts Painting LTD quoted $1200 for an aluminum paint coating for
all vents. Salzwedel made a motion to accept the bid for inclusion into the
painting project. Lukasavitz seconded it. Motion carried. Ulrich generously
donated the $1200 with a check to the Pavilion Fund.
3) Article: Ulrich will submit one more article to the Columbus Journal for their
final 9/19 publication. Hermanson will get photos to Ulrich before 9/16.

D. CHLPC Facade Grant Application: Fredericks forwarded a copy to Ellefson,
Thom, and Goebel for viewing. Waiting for a response before final approval.
E. Donation envelops – redesign and order – Eric: Following up.
F. 2021 Calendar: Going well. Salzwedel will contact At Home Again with
information for the business and residents as well.
8. New Business:
A. Bills:
1) Altschwager made a motion to pay Pyfferoen $120 for the Pavilion color
scheme visuals from the Pavilion Fund. Hermanson seconded it. Motion carried.
2) Kurth made a motion to pay Ulrich $135.31 for letters & postage associated
with the calendar from the CHLPC account.. Altschwager seconded it. Motion
carried.
B. Water tower maintenance – estimates –Ruth: Tabled
D. Local Designations – process, list, applications: Lukasavitz reported on his
progress. Completed applications will be presented to the Commission for
review.
E. CHLPC Archivist: Following discussion on the benefits of having someone
dedicated to the mission of organizing and maintaining HLPC files, Hermanson
made a motion to create the position of CHLPC Archivist. Salzwedel seconded
it. Motion carried. Ulrich was unanimously elected for the positon and
graciously accepted.
9. Council Liaison Report: None
10. Adjourn: Motion: Altschwager; Second: Salzwedel; Motion carried. Meeting
adjourned at 5:25.
