Call To Order/Roll Call 4:00 PM A regular meeting of the Citizens Public Safety Advisory Board was called to order by Chair Bierwiler on July 27 , 2023, at 4:00 PM. A motion was made by Member Hefty, seconded by Vice chair Stewart, to excuse those members not present. - Excused Members Loveridge and Chadwick. Present 8 - Board Member Rodrigo Luevano, Board Member Gavin Strickland, Board Member David Bierweiler, Board Member Tim Stewart, Board Member Scott Hefty, Board Member Roxanne Nice, Board Member Scott Rose, and Board Member Tracee Perkins Excused 2 - Board Member Jennie Loveridge, and Board Member Mark Chadwick Absent 2 - Board Member Jeffrey Pardue, and Board Member Cynthia Butler 2. Approval of Minutes - No minutes to approve. Minutes from last meeting in April will be reviewed for approval at August meeting. 3. Need a Final Decision for Design and Color of Board Polo Shirts - Board agreed on Navy Blue 4. Need a Final Decision of Board SWAG Items - Board decided to purchase minimum quantities of business card magnets, sun glasses, pack of crayons and coloring books, phone wallet with wireless ear bud holder, first aid wallet and stickers. Each item will be personalized with the Board's name. 5. Neighborhood Watch Group Update - Commander Darling advised Board of upcoming Commander meetings, one in the Northern area of the City and another in the Southern area of the City and advised of the opportunity for citizens to attend to obtain NW information. National Night Out 2023 Participation - Executive Administrative Supervisor shared the list of all 2023 NNO participants with the Board. 7. 2024 Community Events - Board Participation -Board decided to move this item to the August agenda. 8. Chief of Police Updates - A brief discussion ensued regarding recruitment efforts; new PIO will begin on August 14th and upcoming community events. - An update regarding recent violent crimes occurring in the City were shared with the Board. A brief discussion also occurred regarding traffic issues and how the Police Department intends to address these concerns. -Member Nice proposed decreasing meeting times from two hours to one and a half hours; 4:00 - 6:00 PM to 4:00 - 5:30 PM. The Boarded and agreed to change the meeting time effective August 2023. 9. Adjourn 6:00 PM The meeting adjourned at 5:23 PM.
