Call to Order/Roll Call A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Ford on January 27, 2014, at 6:00 PM. Present: 8 - Mayor Sean Ford , Council Member Rick A. Teter, Council Member Crystal Elliott, Council Member Steven J. Douglas, Council Member Andrew Amador, Council Member Jadie Carson, Council Member Jason McEldowney and Mayor Pro Tem René Bullock Absent: 1 - Council Member Jim Benson 2. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. Presentations Present: 9 - Mayor Sean Ford , Council Member Jim Benson, Council Member Rick A. Teter, Council Member Crystal Elliott, Council Member Steven J. Douglas, Council Member Andrew Amador, Council Member Jadie Carson, Council Member Jason McEldowney and Mayor Pro Tem René Bullock Pres 14-531 2014 Legislative Update and Action Communications Director Michelle Halstead stated that 274 bills have been introduced in the legislature so far this session. Of those 274 bills, 55 are being tracked by the city. As of the date of this meeting, the council subcommittee has met twice. Ms. Halstead gave a brief overview of the subcommittee's roles and responsibilities. Council reviewed the following bills that fall outside of their policy statement. HB 14-1061, oppose unless amended SB 14-009, support HB14-1031, support HB14-1164. support SB14-093, monitor HB14-1152, oppose unless amended Mayor Pro Tem Bullock moved and Councilman Benson seconded to affirm the stated positions that are outside of their policy statement.
