Community Development Director Cramer provided council with a review of the item
discussed at council on February 1, 2016. Mr. Cramer stated that staff has received
input from the school district as directed from council. The district is supportive of the
project keeping the TIF for both residential and commercial. They expressed some
real concern about short-term space issues at Central Elementary School and have
asked that the project figure out a way to have a voluntary contribution for the dollar
amount equivalent to a modular type classroom space to be installed for the 2017
school year, including a water tap. Futhermore, they asked that if there is an
additional mill levy overide, the new mill levy not be included as a part of the TIF.
Staff has passed the information on to REgen.
