Call to Order/Roll Call A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Ford on Monday, January 9, 2017, at 7:36 PM. Present: 9 - Mayor Sean Ford , Council Member Jadie Carson, Council Member Rick A. Teter, Mayor Pro Tem René Bullock, Council Member Crystal Elliott, Council Member Jason McEldowney, Council Member Steven J. Douglas, Council Member Andrew Amador and Council Member Paolo Diaz 2. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. Audience Introduction The audience introduced themselves. 4. Citizen Communication None. 5. Approval of Minutes Min 17-04 Meeting Minutes of October 17, 2016 A motion was made by Council Member Teter, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Bullock, that the minutes be approved. VOICE VOTE: Unanimous, all present affirmed. Min 17-05 Meeting Minutes of November 7, 2016 A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Bullock, seconded by Council Member Amador, to allow Council Member McEldowney to abstain from voting on the minutes of November 7, 2016, because of his excused absence. VOTE: 8 aye, 1 abstain (McEldowney) A motion was made by Council Member Elliott, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Bullock, that the minutes be approved. Ord 2119 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 9-3302 AND 9-3303 OF THE COMMERCE CITY REVISED MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE LICENSING AND REGULATION OF OUTDOOR VENDORS Z-938-17 AN ORDINANCE REZONING FROM ADAMS COUNTY I-1 TO COMMERCE CITY C-3 THE PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT “A” ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, LOCATED AT 8799 BRIGHTON ROAD, COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO, AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO TO REFLECT SAID REZONING. V-86-17 AN ORDINANCE VACATING A RIGHT-OF-WAY ON THE PROPERTY DESCRIBED ON EXHIBIT “A” ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF CONSISTING OF A PORTION OF DAHLIA STREET, CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO. 7. Presentations Pres 17-20 Commerce City Business Professionals Association Update Reba Drotar and Kristi Douglas appeared before council on behalf of the association. They introduced the board members, provided a history of the association, and highlighted events from 2016. 8. Administrative Council Business City Attorney Sheesley announced that Municipal Court Judge Juarez would like to proceed with recruiting a substitute judge to replace retiring substitute judge Toni Crespin. Council Member Douglas said he is receiving resident concerns with the possible move of an RTD bus stop at 88th & Highway 76. He would also like staff to reach out to the City of Brighton to find out the zoning near 120th & Peoria. Council Member McEldowney stated that there are still traffic issues at both 96th & Chambers and 96th & Potomac. Council Member Diaz asked for a study session regarding drones. 9. Reports City Manager McBroom highlighted items from his weekly report sent out earlier. City Attorney Sheesley stated that his quarterly report and litigation report were sent to council last week. The mayor and council reported on their attendance at various meetings and events. 10. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 8:41 p.m. In accord with the city charter, the city attorney read the title to all ordinances and resolutions adopted by Council at this meeting.
