Swearing In of New Members Municipal Judge David Juarez administered the oaths of office to the newly-elected council members. Present: 8 - Council Member Oscar Madera, Mayor Pro Tem Nicole Frank, Council Member Benjamin Huseman, Council Member Craig Hurst, Council Member Jose Guardiola, Council Member Jennifer Allen-Thomas, Council Member Meghan Grimes and Council Member Susan Noble 2. Call To Order/Roll Call A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Huseman on December 2, 2019, at 8:06 PM. 3. Invocation Pastor Mark Hardacre gave the invocation. 4. Appointment of Mayor Pro Tem Mayor Huseman appointed Council Member Frank as the Mayor Pro Tem. 5. Administrative Council Business 19-71 Council Appointments to the CML Policy Committee and E470 Authority Board of Directors A motion was made by Council Member Madera, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Frank, to appoint Council Member Hurst as the regular member and Council Member Noble as the alternate member to the E-470 Authority Board of Directors. VOTE: Unanimous, all present affirmed. A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Frank, seconded by Council Member Guardiola, to appoint Council Member Madera to the CML Policy Committee. VOTE: Unanimous, all present affirmed. Commerce City Page 1 City Council Meeting Minutes December 2, 2019 19-75 Council Vacancy Discussion City Attorney provided an overview of the options for the selection process for filling the at-large council vacancy. A motion was made by Council Member Hurst, seconded by Council Member Madera, to declare a vacancy on city council for the at-large position. VOTE: Unanimous, all present affirmed. A motion was made by Council Member Madera, seconded by Council Member Hurst, moved to conduct the selection process on December 16 as the council had done previously in April 2019. VOTE: Unanimous, all present affirmed. 19-77 Board, Commission and Committee Assignment Discussion Mayor Huseman asked the council members to review the boards, commission, and committee assignments PDF to prepare for assignment selection at the December 16 meeting. 19-74 Council Determining Need of Meeting on December 23, 2019 A motion was made by Council Member Hurst, seconded by Council Member Madera, to cancel the December 23, 2019 meeting.
