Call to Order/Roll Call A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Huseman on September 29, 2020, at 7:35 PM. A motion was made by Council Member Grimes, seconded by Council Member Allen-Thomas, to excuse Council Member Madera from the meeting. VOTE: 8 - Aye, 1 - Excused (Madera) Present: 9 - Mayor Benjamin Huseman, Mayor Pro Tem Nicole Frank, Council Member Oscar Madera, Council Member Jennifer Allen-Thomas, Council Member Susan Noble, Council Member Jose Guardiola, Council Member Craig Hurst, Council Member Meghan Grimes and Council Member Robyn Smith 2. Discussion 20-73 City Manager Recruitment Update Human Resources Director Armando Guardiola provided council an update on the city manager recruitment process. 3. Presentations Pres 20-343 Environmental Services RFP Domenic Martinelli, Environmental Planner, provided council with an update on the environmental services request for proposal process. Council Member Madera entered the meeting at 7:40 p.m. A motion was made by Council Member Noble, seconded by Council Member Allen-Thomas, to direct staff to draft a reappropriation ordinance for council's consideration for environmental services. Ordinances on 1st Reading Ord 2293 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMMERCE CITY REVISED MUNICIPAL CODE TO AMEND THE PARK PROPERTY CURFEW AND TO PROVIDE FOR PARKING RESTRICTIONS AND ENFORCEMENT IN AND AROUND CITY PARKS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Frank, seconded by Council Member Allen-Thomas, that this emergency ordinance be introduced by council as seated and approved. VOTE: Aye: 9- Mayor Huseman, Mayor Pro Tem Frank, Council Member Madera, Council Member Allen-Thomas, Council Member Noble, Council Member Guardiola, Council Member Hurst, Council Member Grimes and Council Member Smith 5. Administrative Council Business A motion was made by Council Member Hurst, seconded by Council Member Guardiola, to authorize the Mayor to electronically sign a letter in support of the Metro Mayor's Caucus Community WINS grant application. VOTE: 9 - Aye 20-74 Approval of Application for the Peace Officers Mental Health Grant A motion was made by Council Member Noble, seconded by Council Member Allen-Thomas, to allow staff to apply for the peace officers mental health grant. VOTE: 9 - Aye 6. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m. In accord with the city charter, the city clerk read the title to all ordinances and resolutions adopted by Council at this meeting.
