Call to Order/Roll Call A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Huseman on May 24, 2021, at 6:01 PM. A motion was made by Council Member Allen-Thomas, seconded by Council Member Madera, to excuse members not present. VOTE: 7 - Aye, 2 - Excused (Noble, Smith) Present: 7 - Mayor Benjamin Huseman, Mayor Pro Tem Nicole Frank, Council Member Oscar Madera, Council Member Jennifer Allen-Thomas, Council Member Jose Guardiola, Council Member Craig Hurst and Council Member Meghan Grimes Excused: 2 - Council Member Susan Noble and Council Member Robyn Smith 2. Administrative Council Business 21-81 Legal Fireworks Discussion A motion was made by Mayor Huseman, seconded by Council Member Hurst, to direct the City Attorney to amend the City ordinance concerning fireworks to allow fireworks on July 3rd, July 4th, and December 31st up to 11:00 pm and to clarify what is legal and not legal in Commerce City. VOICE VOTE: 7 - Aye, 2 - Excused (Noble, Smith) 21-83 Letter of Support for Kids First Health Care A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Frank, and a second by Council Member Madera, to authorize the Mayor to sign the draft letter as included in the packet.
