Call to Order/Roll Call A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Huseman on January 10, 2022 at 6:01 PM. A motion was made by Council Member Grimes, seconded by Council Member Madera, to excuse those members not present. Resolutions Res 2022-08 A RESOLUTION TEMPORARILY SUSPENDING RESOLUTION 2021-63 TO REQUIRE THE CONDUCT OF PUBLIC MEETINGS BY ELECTRONIC MEANS IN THE ABSENCE OF A DECLARED EMERGENCY THROUGH AND INCLUDING MARCH 7, 2022 A motion was made by Council Member Madera, seconded by Council Member Douglas, to adopt Resolution 2022-08. Motion Failed. VOTE: 3 - Aye (Douglas, Madera, Noble), 4 - Nay 3. Executive Session Commerce City Page 1 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final January 10, 2022 22-06 An executive session regarding the Municipal Judge recruitment pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(f, and g) for the purpose of reviewing and discussing applications and materials related to candidates for the position of Municipal Judge which are documents protected by the mandatory nondisclosure provision of the Colorado Open Records Act and interviewing candidates. A motion was made by Council Member Grimes, seconded by Council Member Madera, to enter into an executive session regarding the Municipal Judge recruitment pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(f, and g) for the purpose of reviewing and discussing applications and materials related to candidates for the position of Municipal Judge which are documents protected by the mandatory nondisclosure provision of the Colorado Open Records Act and interviewing candidates.VOTE: Aye: 7- Mayor Huseman, Council Member Madera, Council Member Noble, Council Member Hurst, Council Member Grimes, Council Member Ford and Council Member Douglas Excused: 2- Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas and Council Member Davis 22-07 An executive session pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(b and e) for the purposes of receiving legal advice from outside legal counsel and determining positions that may be subject to negotiation regarding potential litigation regarding Suncor Energy. A motion was made by Council Member Grimes, seconded by Council Member Madera, to enter into an executive session pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(b and e) for the purposes of receiving legal advice from outside legal counsel and determining positions that may be subject to negotiation regarding potential litigation regarding Suncor Energy. Administrative Council Business 22-10 City Council request to determine the appropriateness of a public hearing process pursuant to Land Development Code Sec. 21-3241(4) (d) for Brighton 27J School District requests approval of the Southlawn Elementary Filing No. 1, Lot 1 Final Plat to create one lot from one existing tract, consisting of 10.61 acres, to allow development of a new school on the property located at the northwest corner of Walden St & E 100th Ave, zoned PUD (Planned Unit Development District). A motion was made by Council Member Grimes, seconded by Council Member Noble, to bring South Lawn Elementary filing No. 1 to a public hearing of both the City Council and the Planning Commission.
