A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas, seconded by Council Member Hurst, to excuse those members not present. Public Comment Commerce City Page 1 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final September 11, 2023 23-173 Public Comment - City Council will conduct this meeting in person at the Commerce City Civic Center, 7887 E 60th Ave, Commerce City, CO 80022. There will be the opportunity for public comment at the meeting during public comment and/or for each agenda item. Comments may be consolidated under the Public Comment part of the meeting. The public can submit their comments live during the meeting in person, via Zoom, or in advance through mail or email. Crystal Armendariz with the Colorado Department of Transportation spoke on the upcoming town hall meeting about the I-270 Corridor Improvements. Troy Younger spoke on the ARPA Survey. Jackie Valdez spoke on weeds/blight and traffic in their community. Chris Fielder with 27J Schools gave an update on the 27J High School #4. Joanna Rosa Saenz, a teacher at a middle school in the City, spoke on housing issues affecting her students. Maria Calderon spoke on housing issues they are dealing with in their community. Belen Rangel spoke on housing issues they are dealing with in their community. Thomasa Flores spoke on housing issues they are dealing with in their community. 5. Resolutions Res 2023-091 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ASSIGNMENT TO THE COLORADO HOUSING AND FINANCE AUTHORITY OF A PRIVATE ACTIVITY BOND ALLOCATION OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY PURSUANT TO THE COLORADO PRIVATE ACTIVITY BOND CEILING ALLOCATION ACT Theresa Wilson, Finance Director, provided the presentation for this item. Administrative Council Business A motion was made by Council Member Noble, seconded by Council Member Chacon, to invite representatives from EPA Region 8 to attend a City Council meeting to discuss Suncor. VOTE: 8 - Aye, 1 - Excused (Madera). 23-219 Review of Work Schedule 9. Council Reports City Manager Rogers highlighted items presented in their weekly report provided to council earlier. The mayor and council reported on their attendance at various meetings and events. 10. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 8:59 PM.
